Fraunhofer IIS will unveil new generative AI solutions for logistics at LogiMAT 2026. The institute plans to demonstrate how artificial intelligence can streamline supply chains by improving efficiency, resilience, and sustainability. Visitors will see live applications, from automated document handling to AI-driven inventory management.

The showcase will feature multiple AI-powered demonstrators. Among them are intelligent knowledge management systems, automated document generation, and forecasting models for raw material prices. Process AI solutions will also be presented, designed to optimise warehouse and intralogistics operations.

Generative AI models will work alongside traditional analytics to speed up decision-making. Techniques like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and fine-tuning will tailor solutions to corporate data, making them accessible through conversational interfaces. The goal is to extract reliable insights from vast datasets more quickly.

An Expert Forum on generative AI in logistics is scheduled for Thursday, March 26, 2026. Running from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM in the LogiMAT Arena, the session will explore dialogue-based decision support, demand forecasting, and the future of large language models in the industry. No specific pilot customers or reference projects have been named for the solutions on display.

The institute's innovations aim to transform logistics workflows by combining AI with established optimisation methods. Attendees at LogiMAT 2026 will see practical applications in tender management, warehouse operations, and beyond. The event highlights how generative AI could reshape data-driven processes in supply chains.
