Fort Collins bus network gets a major reliability upgrade this summer

Transfort is overhauling its bus network in Fort Collins this summer to make public transport more reliable and accessible. The changes will introduce a grid-based system aimed at better serving busy routes and key destinations across the city. The redesigned network will launch on 17 August 2026, though Routes 14 and 18 will remain unchanged until 2027. The new layout focuses on improving connections for daily travel, including work commutes, shopping trips, and access to essential services.

A public open house is scheduled for **11 June 2026**, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Downtown Transit Center, where residents can learn more about the updates. Detailed route maps and further information are also available on the **Transfort Optimization Plan** project page. For paratransit users, the Dial-A-Taxi service area will expand on the same date, but voucher values will drop to **£15**. Existing Dial-A-Ride clients outside the new service boundaries will keep their door-to-door service. However, Sunday service for Dial-A-Ride will be discontinued from **17 August 2026**.

The changes aim to create a more efficient and user-friendly bus system. Most updates take effect in mid-August, with some routes delayed until next year. Residents can attend the June open house or check the project page for full details on the new routes and services.
