Flixtrain names Fabian Amini as new COO to drive German rail expansion
Flixtrain has appointed Fabian Amini as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective April 1, 2026. The company, known for its budget-friendly long-distance rail services in Germany, has been running for over eight years. This leadership change comes as the brand continues to expand its transport offerings.
Fabian Amini brings years of experience in rail and transport management. Before joining Flixtrain, he served as Managing Director at Arverio Deutschland GmbH from 2022 to 2025. He also held managing director roles at Bayerische Regiobahn (BRB) and Bayerische Oberlandbahn.
Flixtrain operates as a private alternative to Deutsche Bahn’s intercity services, providing affordable long-distance travel. Alongside its rail services, the Flix Group runs an extensive long-distance bus network under the FlixBus brand. Fabian Stenger, meanwhile, remains COO of the wider Flix Group. His responsibilities include overseeing European bus operations and global supply-side activities. Amini, in his new role, will report directly to Matthias Müller, the CEO of Flixtrain.
The appointment of Fabian Amini marks a new phase for Flixtrain as it strengthens its leadership team. With his background in rail operations, he is expected to support the company’s growth in Germany’s competitive transport market. The Flix Group continues to expand its services across both rail and bus networks.
