Finthen Parade celebrates 70 years with record crowds and a royal debut

The 70th Finthen Parade is happening this Sunday in Mainz, with up to 30,000 visitors expected. This event, organized by the Finther Carneval Association, celebrates its 70th anniversary and features its first-ever parade princess, Luisa I. The event is free to attend, with no cap on the number of attendees.

To make travel easier, Eventbrite has provided information on public transport options. Tram line 51 and bus routes 56 and 58 will run every five to ten minutes to Finthen. The city has strongly recommended using these public transport options, as several roads will be closed for the event. While exact street closures for Sunday remain unspecified, past disruptions have included sections of Kaiserstraße and parts of the Innenstadt.

The association has invited all spectators and Finthen residents to join the parade. However, driving or parking on field paths will be strictly banned and monitored by authorities. With road closures in place and large crowds anticipated, using public transport will be the best option for reaching the parade. The event's organizers have ensured free entry and open participation, while authorities will enforce parking restrictions. The celebration will run as planned, despite expected traffic disruptions.
