Ex-border officer jailed for six years over child pornography distribution

A former U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer from Michigan has been jailed for sharing child pornography. Scott Rocky, 53, received a six-year prison sentence on Thursday after pleading guilty last November. Investigators uncovered hundreds of illegal files linked to his computer. The case began when an FBI agent traced child pornography files to an IP address registered to Rocky’s home in Center Line, Michigan. Agents discovered roughly 530 files with names suggesting explicit content involving minors. Many of these files showed real children aged four to ten engaged in sexual acts.

A search of Rocky’s property revealed a desktop computer containing a file named in German, describing sexual activity with children. The evidence confirmed his involvement in distributing the material. Rocky admitted his guilt in November, leading to Thursday’s sentencing. The court handed down a six-year prison term for one count of distributing child pornography.

The former border officer will now serve his sentence in federal custody. The investigation confirmed the presence of explicit material depicting young children. Authorities have closed the case following Rocky’s conviction and sentencing.
