Emmendingen braces for €500M roadworks starting in 2026
Major roadworks are set to begin across the Emmendingen district in 2026. The Transport Ministry has announced over 300 new construction and maintenance projects for Baden-Württemberg, with four key routes in the area included. Over €500 million will fund these upgrades, focusing on existing roads and bridges. The L106 between Bleichheim and Streitberg will undergo repairs, including the construction of a new retaining structure. Another retaining structure in Obersimonswald is also scheduled for renovation.
A full renovation of the L186 between Waldkirch and Kandel will cover roughly 13.7 kilometres. Meanwhile, the L173 in Simonswald will receive necessary repairs. On the B3 in Emmendingen, a 340-metre section will get a fresh road surface. These projects form part of a wider push to improve infrastructure across the region. The Transport Ministry has emphasised maintaining and upgrading existing routes as a top priority.
The planned works will affect key routes in Emmendingen, including the B3, L106, L173, and L186. With funding secured and projects scheduled, construction is expected to start in 2026. The upgrades aim to improve road conditions and extend the lifespan of critical transport links.
