El Pollo Loco reports record revenue and profit growth in 2025
El Pollo Loco has reported strong financial results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2025. The chain saw total revenue rise to $123.5 million in Q4, marking a $9.2 million increase from the same period last year. Growth was driven by higher sales in both company-run and franchised locations.
The company's company-operated restaurants brought in $102.4 million for the quarter, a 7.1% jump from 2024. Franchise revenue also climbed by 15.5%, reaching $13.0 million. Nine new locations opened during the year, with the latest units averaging over $2.0 million in annualised sales.
Profitability improved as well. The restaurant contribution margin rose to 17.5%, up from 16.7% in the previous year. Labour costs fell to 31.5% of sales, a reduction of 90 basis points. GAAP net income for the period came in at $6.5 million, or $0.22 per diluted share. For the full year, adjusted EBITDA grew to $16.9 million, compared to $14.3 million in 2024. Comparable store sales inched up by 0.1% across the system. Looking ahead, management expects systemwide comparable sales growth of 2%-3% in 2026.
El Pollo Loco's latest financials show steady growth in revenue and profitability. The chain expanded with nine new restaurants, while labour efficiency and margins both improved. The company now sets its sights on further sales growth in the coming year.
