Ecommpay Launches Express Checkout for Apple Pay and Google Pay
Ecommpay has introduced Express Checkout options for Apple Pay and Google Pay. The new feature aims to speed up payments for customers using merchants' own checkout systems. It also allows these payment methods to appear earlier in the shopping process. The update lets eligible shoppers see Apple Pay and Google Pay buttons as payment choices. Once clicked, their digital wallet opens and fills in stored payment, billing, and delivery details where available. This reduces the need for manual data entry, especially for guest customers, who account for 59% of orders.
Express Checkout also enables merchants to offer these options outside the usual Hosted Payment Page. Artur Zaremba, Head of Internal Payment Solutions Product Stream at Ecommpay, noted that this cuts payment friction. He added that the feature benefits from the security of both digital wallets.
Research shows single-page checkouts convert better than multi-page ones. The former achieves a 61% conversion rate, compared to 56% for the latter. The new Express Checkout aims to streamline the payment process for shoppers. It removes manual steps and leverages stored wallet data. Merchants may see improved conversion rates as a result.
