Dubai’s Red Line metro halts after technical fault disrupts key route
Dubai’s Red Line metro services faced a temporary halt on Tuesday after a technical fault. The disruption affected travel between Al Qusais and Al Ittihad stations, prompting swift action from transport officials. The issue began when a technical malfunction forced authorities to suspend metro operations on a key stretch of the Red Line. Commuters travelling between Al Qusais and Al Ittihad were unable to use the service during the outage. To minimise inconvenience, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) quickly arranged replacement bus services. These ran along the same route, ensuring passengers could still reach their destinations. Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the RTA, oversaw the response. His team coordinated efforts to resolve the problem and restore normal operations. Within hours, engineers identified and fixed the fault, allowing metro services to resume as usual. Metro services have now returned to their regular schedule. The RTA confirmed no further delays are expected on the Red Line. Passengers can travel between the affected stations without interruption.
