Police Track Down Drunk Driver in Tirol's Kitzbühel After Hit-and-Run
In the early hours of Wednesday, officers in Kitzbühel, Tirol, located a 37-year-old man at his home after he fled the scene of a crash. The driver, a Hungarian national, had allegedly struck two parked vehicles in the town—known locally as the Gamsstadt—causing significant damage.
The collision tore off the front right tire of his car, yet he continued driving on the rim to a nearby parking lot, where he abandoned the heavily damaged vehicle, police reported.
Driver Heavily Intoxicated
A patrol unit was dispatched to the scene, and through further investigation, officers traced the suspect back to his residence. A breath test confirmed he was heavily under the influence of alcohol. The 37-year-old now faces charges filed with the Innsbruck district authority.
