Đồng Tháp Province is pushing ahead with an ambitious plan to transform its coastal economy. The focus is on industry, logistics, renewable energy and marine services to drive long-term growth. New infrastructure and strategic projects are now taking shape to reshape the region's development.

The eastern coastal area of Đồng Tháp has been marked as a key growth corridor. Four industrial parks and clusters, covering 1,115 hectares, are currently under development. Among them, Gia Thuan 1 Industrial Cluster is already operational, hosting seven businesses and employing over 5,000 workers with a 68 percent occupancy rate. Gia Thuan 2, a 50-hectare cluster built in September 2025 for VNĐ391 billion ($15.7 million), is also part of the expansion.

A new coastal road is being planned in phases to improve connectivity across the province. This route will form a vital economic corridor, linking key areas. Meanwhile, Provincial Road 864 is nearing completion, connecting the provincial centre to the Go Công coastal zone along the Tiền River.

Major projects are also in the pipeline. These include the Tiền Giang Green Hydrogen Plant, the Go Công General Port, the Tân Thạnh Wind Power Project and the Tân Điền Smart Urban Area. The province aims to turn Go Công into a multi-sector industrial and logistics hub, prioritising technology and high-value industries.

The strategy aligns with broader goals of economic restructuring and regional integration. Renewable energy, modern infrastructure and green industries are central to the plan.

The province's push for coastal development is designed to attract large-scale investment and create jobs. With new transport links and industrial zones, Đồng Tháp is positioning itself as a key player in southern Vietnam's economic growth. No official investor commitments have yet been announced for the planned projects.
