DHL Brazil slashes parcel delays with automated Pix payment system

DHL Express Brazil has partnered with dLocal to optimize its payment processes. The collaboration focuses on automating Pix transactions, Brazil's most popular digital payment method, used by over 166 million users for everyday purchases. Previously, DHL Express Brazil managed Pix payments manually, causing delays in parcel releases. With dLocal's system, payments now sync directly into DHL's customer relationship management (CRM) platform, reducing processing time to minutes and expediting parcel releases. Marco Vollmer, DHL Express Brazil's Chief Financial Officer, has observed enhancements in payment speed, team efficiency, and overall customer satisfaction. Since the change, DHL Express Brazil's online payment rate has risen by 31%, and Pix payment volumes have surged by 400%. Luisa Ribeiro Nunes, dLocal's Country Manager for Brazil, underscores the importance of aligning payment systems with the fast-paced demands of express delivery. Looking ahead, the partnership aims to expand beyond Pix, incorporating support for Boleto, another widely-used payment method in Brazil, to further simplify checkout for local customers. The automation has already yielded tangible benefits, with parcels moving faster and payment errors decreasing. For DHL Express Brazil, this translates to smoother operations and happier customers, setting the stage for potential gains with other payment options in the future.
