DHL Brazil slashes delivery delays with automated Pix payments

DHL Express Brazil has partnered with dLocal to optimize its payment processes. The collaboration focuses on automating Pix transactions, Brazil's most popular digital payment method. Over 166 million users rely on Pix for daily purchases, making it a crucial tool for local businesses.

Previously, DHL Express Brazil managed Pix payments manually. Staff had to verify each transaction individually, leading to delays in parcel releases. The process often took hours, slowing down deliveries and frustrating customers.

With dLocal's system, payments now sync directly into DHL's customer relationship management (CRM) platform. This automation reduces processing time to minutes, expediting parcel releases. Marco Vollmer, DHL Express Brazil's Chief Financial Officer, observed enhancements in payment speed, team efficiency, and overall customer satisfaction.

The results have been impressive. Since the change, DHL Express Brazil's online payment rate has increased by 31%. Pix payment volumes have surged by 400%. Luisa Ribeiro Nunes, dLocal's Country Manager for Brazil, emphasized the importance of aligning payment systems with the fast-paced demands of express delivery.

Looking ahead, the partnership aims to expand beyond Pix. Future updates will include support for Boleto, another widely used payment method in Brazil. The objective is to further simplify checkout for local customers.

The automation has already yielded tangible benefits. Parcels now move faster, and payment errors have decreased. For DHL Express Brazil, this means smoother operations and happier customers. The next phase will explore whether similar gains can be achieved with other payment options.
