Cowbell Scales Up with Global Expansion and New CFO Leadership
Cowbell, a specialist in adaptive cyber and digital insurance, has announced its next phase of growth. The company plans to expand globally while focusing on profitability and operational efficiency. A new chief financial officer has been appointed to lead this strategic push.
The firm has revealed five key areas driving its expansion: international cyber coverage, financial lines, resiliency services, mid-market growth, and franchise subscriptions. This shift builds on Cowbell's evolution from a cyber insurance pioneer to a broader digital protection provider, now covering cyber, professional, and management liability risks.
Since its launch, the company has paid out over $275 million in claims. It currently protects around 30,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) worldwide, with a combined insured revenue of $610 billion. Its global risk pool has also grown to include 55 million SMEs.
Cowbell's customer loyalty remains strong, with 60% of policyholders staying for more than three years. Recent growth reports suggest the company employs between 200 and 250 people globally, though exact figures have not been confirmed.
To support its ambitions, Cowbell has brought in John Botros as Chief Financial Officer. He brings over a decade of experience in financial leadership, particularly in high-growth technology and cyber-risk firms. The company has also expanded into Australia, marking another step in its international push.
Jack Kudale, Cowbell's founder and CEO, stated that the business is ready to scale responsibly. He cited success in new products, services, and markets over the past 18 months as the foundation for this next stage.
The company's focus now turns to sustainable growth, operational profitability, and wider global reach. With a strengthened leadership team and a clear strategy, Cowbell aims to solidify its position as a leader in digital protection for businesses.
