Major upgrade work will disrupt services on the Cascais rail line from Monday, April 6. The improvements aim to modernise electrification, signalling, and operational systems. Passengers are advised to check CP – Comboios de Portugal's website for real-time updates on schedule changes.

From April 6, trains between Caxias and Cascais will face interruptions. Full closures are planned for weekdays between 9:50 PM and 2:35 AM. On Sundays, services will halt from 5:30 AM to 8:40 AM and again from 7:50 PM to 2:35 AM the next day.

On Sunday, April 12, a single-track operation will run between São Pedro do Estoril and Cascais. This will alter timetables and platform assignments. A replacement bus service will cover affected stations during the disruptions. The modernisation project is expected to last around 18 months, from March 2025 to September 2026. Similar upgrades may later extend to other routes, including the Sintra, Porto, and Algarve lines.

The work will bring new electrification, signalling, and operational technology to the Cascais line. Passengers can rely on replacement buses and real-time updates to plan their journeys. The full project is set to complete by late 2026.
