Bolt partners with Ryd to slash fuel costs for Portugal's ride-hailing drivers
Bolt has launched a new scheme to help ride-hailing drivers in Portugal cut fuel costs. The initiative, created in partnership with the Ryd app, comes as fuel prices continue to rise across the country. Drivers who meet certain trip targets will receive automatic discounts at the pump.
From now until April 5, drivers completing over 250 kilometres on Bolt trips will get fuel vouchers through the Bolt Driver app. Priority will go to those with the most trips during this period. The vouchers can be used in the Ryd app, which lets drivers refuel and pay without leaving their vehicle.
The scheme offers year-round savings of up to €0.15 per litre for all ride-hailing drivers using Ryd. Those who receive the vouchers will also get a €25 credit after entering a promotional code in the app. To use the discount, drivers simply select a gas station in the Ryd app before refuelling. Bolt's General Manager for Portugal, Mário de Morais, said the company is looking for more ways to support its drivers. The move adds to existing benefits and follows a shift in the fleet—43% of ride-hailing vehicles in Portugal are now electric. Bolt also reminds drivers to manage their schedules and take regular breaks.
The partnership with Ryd aims to ease the impact of high fuel costs on drivers. Eligible participants will see discounts applied automatically when refuelling through the app. The programme runs alongside Bolt's ongoing efforts to improve working conditions for its drivers.
