Black Sea hydrofoil routes launch early with Sochi connections in May
Passenger transport across the Black Sea aboard the high-speed Komet hydrofoil between Sochi and Gelendzhik will begin on May 20, the carrier's press service announced.
The Komet will operate daily routes starting May 20: Gelendzhik–Sochi in the morning and Sochi–Gelendzhik in the afternoon. Departures from Gelendzhik are scheduled for 8:00 AM, while the return trip from Sochi leaves at 3:00 PM. Travel time will range from three to four hours, with ticket prices starting at 5,400 rubles. Discounted fares for children are also available, the statement noted.
As previously reported, the first seasonal Komet route between Sochi and Sukhum will launch on May 15—three months earlier than in 2025. Departures are planned twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Fridays. The maritime passenger line will remain operational through October, though the final voyage of the season may depend on weather conditions.
Last year, hydrofoil passenger service between Sochi and Gelendzhik began in early summer. The Komet, designed to carry up to 120 passengers, can reach speeds exceeding 60 kilometers per hour.
