Bhopal faces scheduled power cuts on 31 May for maintenance and metro work
The electricity department has announced scheduled power cuts across multiple areas of Bhopal on 31 May 2026. Different neighbourhoods will face outages at varying times due to maintenance, upgrades, and metro construction work.
The longest shutdowns will affect Saubhagya Nagar, Subhash Colony, Sundar Nagar, Pragati Nagar, and Ashoka Garden. These areas will remain without power from 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM while crews replace conductors on the 33 KV AKVN-1 & 2 feeder.
Firdos Nagar, Shitla Nagar, Nishatpura, Berasia Road, and Bafna Colony will experience outages from 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM. The disruption is necessary for ongoing metro construction in those zones. Shorter cuts are planned for Mansarover Complex from 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM and for Kawadi, Croma, and D-Mart from 08:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The former requires pole erection, while the latter involves routine line maintenance. Ambar Complex will also see a four-hour shutdown from 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM for pole erection work.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas should prepare for the planned outages. The electricity department has advised making necessary arrangements in advance. Normal supply will resume once the scheduled work is completed.
