Bhiwandi's ₹14-crore modern bus terminus to transform urban travel
Bhiwandi is set to get a modern bus terminus costing ₹14 crore. The project marks a key step in the city’s urban development. It will bring improved facilities and better infrastructure for passengers. The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation has started work on the new terminus. It will include spacious waiting areas, modern amenities, and upgraded traffic systems.
To avoid disruption, MSRTC is also building a temporary bus station. An e-tender of ₹72.84 lakh has been issued for this phase. The temporary facility will open before construction on the main terminus begins, keeping ST bus services running smoothly.
Bhiwandi West MLA Mahesh Choughule has pushed for the upgrade. He welcomed the project and thanked the state government, transport department, and MSRTC officials for their support. The Office of the Executive Engineer, Mumbai Regional Division, MSRTC, issued the tender for the work. The new terminus will improve commuter convenience and support Bhiwandi’s growth. The temporary station ensures no break in services during construction. Both projects move forward under MSRTC’s planning and funding.
