Berlin gas pipeline work to disrupt traffic from mid-June
Construction work will begin on 15 June 2023 in the Grünewaldstraße/Wilhelm-Bode-Straße area. The project involves installing corrosion protection for a gas pipeline and will affect local traffic routes. BS Netz is leading the scheme to install a new anode bed through a 90-metre-deep borehole. This will protect an existing gas supply line from corrosion. The work will require a full closure of Grünewaldstraße between Wilhelm-Bode-Straße and Berner Straße.
During the project, Feuerbachstraße will only be reachable via Grünewaldstraße. Its one-way direction will also be reversed, with traffic flowing toward Dürerstraße. The construction is expected to continue until early July 2023. Drivers and pedestrians will need to follow the temporary traffic arrangements. The measures aim to ensure safety and complete the corrosion protection system on time.
