More Money for 1,300 Employees in the Bakery Industry - Bakery workers secure wage hikes and job guarantees until 2028

Around 1,300 bakery workers in Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia will see their wages rise under a new deal. The agreement between the NGG union and Aryzta covers employees in Eisleben and Nordhausen. It includes staged pay increases over the next two years and guarantees job security until 2028.

The collective bargaining agreement was finalised after negotiations between NGG and Aryzta. Starting in April 2026, all affected staff will receive a 2.5 percent wage boost. Workers at the Eisleben and Nordhausen sites will then get further raises: 2 percent in January 2027 and another 1.5 percent in July 2027.

Aryzta's spokesperson highlighted the deal's benefits, calling it a source of long-term stability for employees. Olaf Klenke, NGG's lead negotiator, echoed this view, stressing that the agreement ensures job security. The contract will remain in place until 2028, providing predictability for both workers and the company.

The new terms mean gradual pay rises for bakery staff over the next two years. Employees in Eisleben and Nordhausen will see three separate increases by mid-2027. The deal also locks in job protections and wage stability until the agreement expires in 2028.
