Astana Police bring anti-drug seminars to workplaces under new initiative
Astana Police have expanded their drug prevention efforts to include workplaces as part of the Law and Order initiative. The move comes under the city’s Comprehensive Plan to Combat Drug Addiction and the Drug Trade for 2026–2028. A recent seminar at a government office highlighted the growing focus on education and early intervention. A preventive seminar took place at the State Enterprise 'Main Dispatch Office of the State Revenue Committee under the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan'. Officers led discussions on drug-related threats and how employees could protect their families. The session covered common tactics used to recruit young people into the drug trade, particularly through social media and messaging apps.
Parents were taught how to spot early signs of minors being drawn into illegal drug trafficking. The importance of monitoring children’s online activity and fostering open family communication was emphasised. Attendees also learned about Astana’s wider anti-drug operations and the legal penalties for involvement in the illegal drug market. The event allowed participants to ask questions and receive practical advice on safeguarding children. These seminars form part of a broader campaign to improve legal literacy, strengthen community ties, and reduce drug-related offences.
The workplace seminars mark a new phase in Astana’s drug prevention strategy. By targeting employees, police aim to spread awareness and build resilience against drug crimes. Further sessions are expected as part of the city’s long-term anti-drug plan.
