Aral Expands Electric Truck Charging with Five New Megawatt Stations

Aral has expanded its electric truck charging network with five new megawatt stations, including one in Schwarmstedt. These sites allow large fleets, particularly in long-haul transport, to switch to electric vehicles more easily. The technology promises faster, more reliable, and cost-effective charging for commercial vehicles.

The new megawatt charging stations build on Aral's existing network of over 30 public ultra-fast charging sites for e-trucks across Germany. Before the Schwarmstedt launch, 28 of these stations were already operational. Each new location, including Schwarmstedt, features up to six drive-through charging bays, open 24/7.

The Schwarmstedt site also draws power from a nearby solar park run by Ladesonne, supporting renewable energy use. Drivers can activate the chargers using the Aral Fuel & Charge card, third-party cards, or standard payment methods. The system delivers high-power charging, taking an e-truck from 20% to 80% charge in just 30 minutes. All 33 charging locations, including the five new megawatt sites, can be found via the truck filter in the Fuel & Charge app. Truckers at these stations also gain access to round-the-clock amenities, such as restrooms, showers, rest areas, shops, and food services. Aral's own fuel and charging cards further provide fleets with access to 93% of Germany's public charging points, alongside its wider fuel network. Alexander Junge, Aral's e-mobility board member, highlighted the importance of electrifying commercial vehicles in cutting transport emissions. The expansion reinforces Aral's position as Germany's largest provider of public ultra-fast charging for electric trucks.

The new megawatt charging stations enable quicker and more efficient charging for long-haul electric trucks. With solar-powered options and extensive driver amenities, the network supports both fleet operators and the broader shift toward cleaner transport. The technology is now available at five additional sites, alongside Aral's existing infrastructure.
