Aquapulse Secures ₹25 Cr to Revolutionize India's Shrimp and Fish Farming

Aquapulse, a tech-driven aquaculture startup, has raised ₹25 Cr (around $2.7 Mn) in its ongoing Series A funding round. The investment comes from NABVENTURES through its AgriSURE Fund, marking a significant step for the company since its founding in 2022 by Abhishek and Abhilash Dwivedy. The firm specialises in connecting shrimp and fish farmers directly with buyers while streamlining post-harvest processes. Aquapulse helps farmers bypass intermediaries by offering transparent pricing and direct market access. Its app-based system monitors water quality, forecasts shrimp growth, and optimises feed management. The company is now investing in AI-powered harvest technology to further refine its operations.

The startup also handles grading, cold storage, logistics, and compliance for farmers after harvest. To strengthen quality control and boost profit margins, Aquapulse plans to establish its own processing facility soon. Expansion is another key focus, with targets to bring 15,000 farmers across Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal onto its platform.

India's aquaculture industry relies heavily on shrimp and fish production, with shrimp alone accounting for nearly 70% of export earnings. Aquapulse competes with firms like Eruvaka, Aquaconnect, and AquaExchange in this growing sector. Meanwhile, larger players such as Avanti Feeds, Waterbase, and CP Aquaculture India dominate with integrated services, from hatcheries to exports, each following distinct business models. With fresh funding and plans for AI-driven systems, Aquapulse aims to solidify its position in India's aquaculture market. The company's focus on tech-enabled transparency and direct farmer-buyer connections sets it apart from traditional intermediaries. Expansion into new regions and in-house processing could further strengthen its role in the sector.
