The Álvaro Obregón borough announced it has signed a collaboration agreement with Correos de México to drive the modernization of postal services and enhance the urban image of its offices within the district.
The deal was signed at the Palacio Postal by Mayor Javier López Casarín and Sepomex Director General Violeta Abreu González.
The agreement, valid until September 30, 2027, establishes a partnership to upgrade postal facilities in the borough through improved lighting, maintenance of green spaces and urban surroundings, while also streamlining the delivery of mail and parcels.
"Our goal is to restore the value of the communication that Correos de México makes possible—connecting streets, neighborhoods, and bridging gaps for those who have long faced the challenge of distance," said Mayor Javier López Casarín.
For her part, Correos de México CEO Violeta Abreu González explained that the agreement aims to coordinate efforts to improve public spaces and expand service reach.
"Today, we are not just signing a document—we are solidifying a way of working built on coordination, shared responsibility, and a commitment to the people of Álvaro Obregón," González Abreu stated.
She also revealed that "through our network, we will support the borough in delivering its information, programs, and services directly to households."
Beyond enhancing postal operations, the agreement includes joint initiatives to promote postal culture in the district, as well as potential projects such as issuing commemorative stamps and extending postal services to underserved areas.
Under the deal, the borough will improve the urban environment around postal offices and provide operational spaces, while Correos de México will handle logistics, distribution, and the promotion of institutional initiatives.
