Adesso SE joins Open Logistics Foundation to drive open-source innovation
Adesso SE has announced its membership in the Open Logistics Foundation. The move aims to support businesses in the logistics sector by improving access to open-source solutions. The company will act as a provider and implementation partner for foundation-developed applications. The Open Logistics Foundation focuses on creating open standards using open-source code. Its projects cover areas such as track-and-trace processes, digital consignment notes, and emissions data exchange. The foundation has recently released its first industry-ready open-source solution for digital consignment notes.
Adesso SE, with over 11,300 employees across 65 locations, brings expertise in scalable and interoperable IT systems. This knowledge will now extend to the foundation’s open-source community. Andreas Prenneis, a member of Adesso’s executive board, confirmed that open source aligns with the company’s strategic direction.
As part of its role, Adesso will help businesses integrate these applications into their existing IT setups. It will also customise solutions to meet individual company needs. The partnership will enable logistics firms to adopt open-source tools more easily. Adesso’s involvement is expected to strengthen the foundation’s efforts in standardising digital processes. Companies in the sector will gain access to tailored, interoperable solutions for their operations.
