1960s Party Train Car Hits the Market for Unique Event Experiences
A one-of-a-kind railway carriage has hit the market: the WGmz 820 party car is now listed on Deutsche Bahn's used-train portal, targeting event organizers and charter service providers.
A unique railcar is currently up for sale through Deutsche Bahn's secondhand train platform—a WGmz 820 series party carriage, marketed on behalf of Centralbahn.
Built in 1963 and extensively refurbished in 1999, the car boasts modern amenities, including air conditioning, multi-voltage capability, and an up-to-date main inspection certification. With a top speed of up to 200 km/h (124 mph), it can be flexibly deployed across Europe's rail networks, according to the listing.
The carriage is described as ideal for charter services, corporate events, or exclusive on-track gatherings. Its "spacious interior design" allows for "versatile uses" and promises an "exceptional travel experience."
The sale aims to find a new operator to continue running the car as a mobile event venue.
